New Rule

New Rule: People need to stop complaining about Starbucks (or any other chains, for that matter) coming to Collegetown. In case no one has noticed, our local economy hasn't been doing so well over the past few years and there are numerous empty storefronts due to the excessively high rent costs. Meanwhile, everyone's beloved CTB has been thoroughly enjoying their monopoly power, leaving us with a steady decline in food quality and an even steadier increase in food prices. Starbucks, on the other hand, has brought an incomparable corporate ethic, high quality coffee and food, and a much-needed boost for the local economy.

So maybe sitting in an overly-cramped and over-priced local cafe is novel for those who were previously deprived of such experiences, but CTB does not bring any value to Collegetown beyond that. So while protesting against "big business" has been the hot trend as of late, standing outside of CTB holding a poster on which you scrawled "Go to Starbucks if you're not poor" is just really stupid.
